Get Inspired > Youth Leadership

Youth Leadership is much more than “participation”.

Whereas participation is often sold as “deciding whether the flower pot shall be left or right of ths school entrance” or “writing a plea to some authority figure”, progressive institutions in North America see young people as the change agents in their communities – and provide them with training, the best knowledge for change facilitation processes, contacts, personal development etc.

This is what teenagers are doing:

Even better, some youth leadership networks provide “Youth Leader Jams” (like YES! Youth for Environmental Sanity : offering dialogue, exchange, learning between outstanding young people who have no one to relate to in their own age group or with adults; nurturing their growth, community, healing, skills and strategies; operating worldwide from California, USA) and “Youth Leadership Acade

Academies” (like Free The Children’s METOWE Movement, operating worldwide from Canada) for school youth with inspirational speakers, methods, knowledge on global issues, public speaking, and inspirational “School Workshops”, with great media and teaching tools (like 4REAL TV, operating internationally from Canada, thier materials already part of the official Toronto school board curriculum) … you get the picture, like in the 60′s the most dynamic change originates in North America. So be it. Let’s rock, and check ‘em out “live”.

We have short articles about YES and METOWE. But their videos speak more than a million words.

Meet the changemakers and learn *** what youth leaders are doing and *** what media they produce

YES has a strong meta-level approach, for young people that are already “big”

whereas METOWE goes full on on inspiration, inspiration for the young generation

.

As you can certainly feel, this is HIGH VALUE material for YOUTH AND EDUCATION, for global learning, sustainability learning, role models, ethics, lifestyle change, project development etc.

YOUTH-LEADER serves excellent materials for educators and youth wishing to work on these issues in school – through the MAGAZINE and TEACHING TOOLS – as well as by innovative strategies for establishing this quality of positive changemaking in schools on a daily basis – through POSITIVE NEWS BOARDS, project activities and more.
